CountyCare Health Plan

CountyCare is Cook County’s largest Medicaid health plan with access to more than 5,500+ primary care providers, 26,000+ specialists and 70+ hospital locations, and 100+ urgent care sites throughout Cook County. CountyCare covers doctor and hospital visits, dental and vision care, prescriptions, and access to behavioral health services like therapy and substance-use disorder treatment. Cook County Forest Preserves Events and Permits

he Forest Preserves of Cook County has about 70,000 acres of land it is one of the oldest and largest forest preserve districts in the United States. The mission of the Forest Preserve is to “acquire, restore and manage lands for the purpose of protecting and preserving public open space with its natural wonders, significant prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers, streams, and other landscapes with all of its associated wildlife, in a natural state for the education, pleasure, and recreation of the public now and in the future.” The Forest Preserve has a variety of activities and educational programs for everyone. Veterans Affairs and Assistance

The County Department of Veteran Affairs is here to serve and assist all veterans with social programs, veteran benefits, and employment, and support them with any other concerns they may have. Learn more here

Cook County Public Defender Legal Assistance

The Public Defender’s office provides free legal representation to those being prosecuted. If you or someone you know is in law enforcement custody, in Chicago or any other city or town in Cook County, call the Arrest Hotline: 844-817-4448 or go through the Sheriff’s online search here.
